See what each daily study time gives you

    NewImproved
    • New
Compare daily study times before you pick one. more ▾

When you choose how long to study each day, your Study Plan now shows what that choice gives you before you save it: how many topics are covered, how many questions, how many topics come back for a second round, and how long a typical day runs. If some days would run long, or more time would build the same plan, it says so.

    • Improved
A PDF that will not download now has a way through. more ▾

If a cram sheet PDF does not download in your phone's built-in browser or inside an app like Messenger, the reader now offers to share the file straight to your phone, or to copy the page link so you can open it in Chrome.

    A simpler Plan progress card

    Improved
    • Improved
Plan progress is simpler, with the days left to your exam on top. more ▾

The Plan progress card on your Study Plan now shows just the road to your exam and this week's tasks. Your whole-plan total and topics covered per section are one tap away, and the card remembers if you keep them open. The top line also counts the days left until your exam.

Cram sheet pages that fail to load now say so

    Fixed
    • Fixed
A page that will not load now says so instead of staying blank. more ▾

If a cram sheet page cannot be displayed even after an automatic retry, it now keeps its place and shows a short message instead of a blank white page, and we are told about it so we can fix the cause.

See how many flashcards you have learned

    NewImproved
    • New
See how many cards you have seen, and how many are strong. more ▾

Flashcards now shows your totals: how many cards you have seen, and how many are strong, meaning their next review is three weeks or more away. Each subject and each deck shows the same bar, and the end of a session says how many you have seen in total.

    • Improved
Cards you blank on come back later in the same session. more ▾

A card you tap Again on now comes back a few cards later in the same session, so you see the answer again while it still matters.

    • New
Practice only the cards you keep missing. more ▾

With full access, a new row on Flashcards gathers the cards you keep missing, so you can practice just those.

    • New
Cover answers and search while you read through a deck. more ▾

Read through can now cover the answers, so you can quiz yourself while you read, and you can search the cards in a deck.

    • Improved
The finish screen shows your ratings and stays on screen. more ▾

The end of a session shows how many cards you rated Again, Hard, Good and Easy, and it no longer disappears a moment after it appears.

    • Improved
Easier-to-read text, bigger buttons, and a safer delete. more ▾

Small text on the flashcard pages is darker and easier to read, buttons are easier to tap, and deleting a deck you made now asks first.

    A livelier Study Plan calendar

    NewImproved
    • New
Swipe the Study Plan calendar to change weeks. more ▾

On your phone, swipe the Study Plan calendar left or right to move between weeks. The arrows still work too.

    • New
See your whole timeline, with mock boards as flags. more ▾

Plan progress now opens with your road to the exam: one line from your start date to exam day, with today marked and each mock board as a numbered flag that fills in once you finish it.

    • Improved
Small, light animations on ticks and week changes. more ▾

Tick boxes give a small pop when you finish a task, and the calendar slides gently when you change weeks. If your phone is set to reduce motion, all of it stays still.

Catching up on your Study Plan feels lighter

    ImprovedNew
    • Improved
Slipped tasks gather in one catch-up card instead of red chips. more ▾

Tasks that slipped past their day are no longer painted red. One card under Today says how many sessions are left to catch up, and one tap spreads them over your lightest days, with the same preview and Undo as Rebalance.

    • New
See this week's progress and topics covered per exam section. more ▾

Plan progress now shows this week beside your whole plan, starting fresh every Sunday, plus how many topics you have covered in each exam section. Every bar moves the moment you tick a task.

    • New
Finished days get a green check on the calendar. more ▾

Days where you finished every task get a small green check on the calendar, so a run of finished days shows as a chain in the Month view.

    • New
Free previews can tick one of today's tasks for real. more ▾

Previewing your plan without full access? You can now tick one of today's tasks for real to see how it feels.

Your Study Plan opens on today

    ImprovedFixed
    • Improved
The Study Plan opens with today's tasks and a ring that fills as you tick. more ▾

Your Study Plan now opens with Today: today's tasks with big tick boxes and a ring that fills as you finish, plus how much time is left. Finish the last one for a small celebration. Ticks show on the calendar below right away.

    • Improved
Plan settings fold into one bar; how-it-works tips sit behind the "?". more ▾

Your plan's six settings (dates, exam sections, focus, daily time, rest days and flashcards) now sit behind one Plan settings bar, which shows your dates, daily time and rest days at a glance. Tap it to change any of them. How the plan works is behind the "?" next to your daily time, and Add to my calendar moved below the calendar.

    • Fixed
Study Plan notes no longer bunch into the left half of a wide box. more ▾

Notes on your Study Plan, like a tight timeline or a plan whose dates have ended, no longer sit bunched in the left half of a wide box.

Clearer leaderboard explanation and topic name

    FixedImproved
    • Fixed
"(PALMER)" removed from the Professional Adjustment and Nursing Jurisprudence set name. more ▾

The Professional Adjustment and Nursing Jurisprudence set no longer has "(PALMER)" after its name, because PALMER also covers other sets, like Leadership and Management and Nursing Research. Your study plan shows the new name too.

    • Improved
The leaderboard now explains clearly how your rank is worked out. more ▾

The "How ranking works" box on the leaderboard now explains what counts, how many questions you need to join, why a high % on a few questions can rank below a slightly lower % on many, how ties are broken, and when each board resets.

    Drug classes topic fully revised

    ImprovedFixed
    • Improved
187 drug classes questions rebuilt from drug labels: shorter, harder choices, clearer explanations. more ▾

187 pharmacology questions were rebuilt across the drug classes topic: heart and blood thinners, brain and mental health drugs, hormones, stomach and lung drugs, and anti-infective, cancer and pregnancy drugs. Each one now tests a fact taken from the drug's official label, many on drug facts the bank had not tested before, so fewer questions repeat each other. Questions are shorter, all four choices look right at first glance, and every explanation starts with the answer. The correct letter stayed the same in every one.

    • Fixed
Out-of-date facts on metronidazole, statin liver tests and Rh immune globulin corrected. more ▾

We corrected drug facts that were out of date or wrong: alcohol is avoided for three days after the last metronidazole dose, not two; statin users get liver tests before starting and then only if liver signs appear, not on a fixed schedule; and a Rh immune globulin statement that was true for only one brand was replaced.

    Seven more topics fully revised

    ImprovedFixed
    • Improved
92 questions in seven topics rebuilt: shorter, harder choices, clearer explanations. more ▾

92 more questions were rebuilt in seven topics: primary health care and herbal medicines, health records and reporting, school and workplace health, the Philippine health care delivery system, the two community health laws topics, and substance use. Questions are shorter, all four choices look right at first glance, and every explanation starts with the answer and explains its terms in plain words. The correct letter stayed the same in every one, and every topic in this group is now fully revised.

    • Fixed
Explanations with wrong facts about disease reporting, delirium tremens and patient records corrected. more ▾

While rebuilding them we corrected explanations that taught something wrong: the PRC can suspend a nurse's license for not reporting a notifiable disease, the death rate given for delirium tremens was far too high, and a police request alone does not settle whether a nurse may release a patient's chart.

    • Fixed
Three mock questions on alcohol withdrawal delirium now explain one clear priority rule. more ▾

Three mock board questions about a patient in alcohol withdrawal delirium now explain one clear rule: if he is climbing out of bed, stay with him and call for help first; the ordered calming medicine treats the withdrawal and is given as soon as he is safe. Their correct answers did not change.

Clearer explanations in ten more topics

    ImprovedFixed
    • Improved
504 explanations in ten topics rewritten in plain words, answers unchanged. more ▾

504 explanations in ten topics were rewritten in plain words: anxiety disorders, growth and development theories, stomach and bowel problems in children, heart problems in children, pneumonia, blood vessel disease and high blood pressure, heart and circulation problems, the brain and nerve exam, water-balance hormone disorders, and the reproductive system. Each one now starts with the answer, each wrong choice opens with the reason it is wrong, and hard terms get a short meaning the first time they appear. Questions that ask which statement needs correction now call the true choices accurate, never correct.

    • Fixed
99 facts in those explanations checked against current sources and corrected. more ▾

We checked the doubtful facts in those explanations against current guidelines, drug labels and the review-center modules, and corrected 99 of them. Examples: where the line between severe and panic anxiety sits in both teaching styles, why salt tablets still have a place in SIADH, how fully protamine reverses each kind of heparin, when object permanence and separation anxiety appear, and how pneumonia on a breathing machine is labeled.

    • Fixed
11 questions reworded so only one choice holds up; correct letters unchanged. more ▾

11 questions were reworded so that only one choice holds up, after we found a second choice could also be defended. The correct letter stayed the same in every one. Examples: the cleft palate question now offers a cloth toy instead of a soft spoon, the doxazosin question now tests driving after the first dose, and the moral development question now uses a 10-year-old.

Study Plan calendar: whole words on tablets and laptops

    Fixed
    • Fixed
Study Plan topic names no longer break mid-word on tablets and laptops. more ▾

Topic names on the Study Plan calendar no longer break in the middle of a word. On a tablet the week now shows as a day-by-day list, like on a phone, and on a laptop each task has more room, with very long words such as Psychopharmacology breaking cleanly at a syllable.

Tidier pages: nothing hidden behind the floating buttons

    FixedImproved
    • Fixed
The floating buttons no longer cover the last button on a page. more ▾

The Timer and Report a problem buttons no longer sit on top of the last button on a page, such as Start on Mock Board #5 or Sign out on your Profile. Every page now leaves room under its last line.

    • Improved
Neater line breaks and easier-to-read text across the app. more ▾

Headings and paragraphs across the app no longer leave a single word alone on the last line, and longer notes, help answers and lessons keep to a comfortable line length on tablets and laptops.

    • Improved
Card titles and deck names no longer get cut off. more ▾

Resources and Flashcards show full card titles and your own deck names on two lines instead of cutting them off, and the two guide lessons now use one font throughout.

Upgrade your plan or add time, with unused days credited

    NewImproved
    • New
Move to a longer plan anytime; your unused days are credited. more ▾

Already on a plan? You can now move to a longer one from Pricing. The days you haven't used yet are credited toward it at what you paid, and the new plan starts right away. For example, a 1-Month Plan with 15 days left moves to the 1-Year Plan for ₱850 instead of ₱999.

    • New
Add more time that starts when your current plan ends. more ▾

You can also add the same plan again, or a shorter one, at its usual price. The new time starts the day your current plan ends, so you never lose a day.

    • Improved
Home's plan-ends-before-exam reminder links to your upgrade options. more ▾

If your plan ends before your exam date, the reminder on Home now links straight to your upgrade options.

Easier reading on the About and policy pages

    Improved
    • Improved
About and policy pages are easier to read on bigger screens. more ▾

The About, Terms, Privacy and Refund pages now use a narrower column on tablets and laptops, so each line is a comfortable length to read. On the About page, the text beside Byron's photo no longer leaves a single line stranded underneath it.

Partner share links and code end dates

    NewImproved
    • New
Partner share links apply the discount at checkout automatically. more ▾

Partners now get a share link as well as a code. A student who opens the link has the partner's discount applied for them at checkout, so nobody has to type the code.

    • Improved
Partners see their code's end date and get a weekly sales summary. more ▾

The Partner Portal shows the date a partner's code runs until, with a reminder in its last week. Partners also get a short summary email on Mondays after a week with sales.

    • Improved
Partner codes now work on every purchase while active. more ▾

A partner's code now works every time you buy while the code is active, so renewing a 1-Month or 2-Month plan keeps your discount. Other promo codes still work once per account, and checkout now says so before you pay instead of after.

Use a study remote on your phone or iPad

    NewImprovedFixed
    • New
Study remotes now work on iPhone and iPad across practice, mocks, flashcards, and cram sheets. more ▾

Study remotes now work on iPhone and iPad. Many remotes sold for flashcard apps act like a game controller on a phone, which BoardPal could not read before. Now it can, on practice questions, mock boards, flashcards, and cram sheets. Next submits or moves on, flips a card, or turns the page. Back goes to the previous question, brings back the last card, or turns back a page. Four more buttons can pick choices A to D or rate a card. The first time a remote connects, you can set what each button does in about 20 seconds. Your setup is saved on that device.

    • Improved
Cram sheets turn pages with Page Down and Page Up; left arrow undoes a flashcard. more ▾

Cram sheets now turn a full page with Page Down and Page Up, which many page-turner remotes send. A page taller than the screen scrolls through first, so nothing gets skipped. On flashcards, the left arrow key now brings back the last card, like Z.

    • Fixed
A cram sheet's page number now matches the page you are reading. more ▾

On a phone, a cram sheet's page number sometimes showed the next page while you were still reading the one at the top. It now shows the page you are on, so a sheet also reopens where you left off.

Smoother Apple Pencil writing on the Scratch pad

    FixedImproved
    • Fixed
Scratch pad strokes on iPad no longer need extra Pencil pressure. more ▾

Since the Scratch pad gained its left, right and bottom positions on October 7, an iPad could treat a Pencil stroke on the pad as the start of a scroll, so writing felt like it needed more pressure. The pad now keeps every stroke on the paper again, the way it did before.

    • Improved
Pencil writing follows your hand more closely on the pad and the question. more ▾

The Scratch pad and the Pen's freehand mode now use every point your Apple Pencil reports, not just one per screen refresh, so quick curves and small numbers come out rounder and closer to your handwriting.

Clearer explanations in ten more topics

    ImprovedFixed
    • Improved
537 explanations in ten topics rewritten in plain words, answers unchanged. more ▾

537 explanations in ten topics were rewritten in plain words: multiple sclerosis, COPD, asthma, Parkinson's disease, increased intracranial pressure, cancer treatment, psychiatric medicines, crisis intervention, care after birth, and kidney problems in children. Each one now starts with the answer, each wrong choice opens with the reason it is wrong, and hard terms get a short meaning the first time they appear. Answers did not change.

    • Fixed
82 facts in those explanations checked against current sources and corrected. more ▾

We checked the doubtful facts in those explanations against current guidelines and drug labels, and corrected 82 of them. Examples: when undescended-testis surgery is advised, what causes the kidney damage in HUS, why short steroid courses after a COPD flare usually need no taper, how heavy bleeding after birth is defined, how often optic neuritis is painful, and who first wrote the five disaster-support principles. Where review books teach different versions, the explanation now names both.

    • Fixed
Five questions reworded so only one choice holds up. more ▾

Five questions in these topics had a wrong choice that some references would call right, or an answer that overstated the evidence. They were reworded so only one choice holds up: the heavy-bleeding-after-birth question now names the definition it uses, and the questions on blood pressure after birth, life expectancy in multiple sclerosis, pollen timing in asthma, and raising the head of the bed after a head injury each had one choice clarified. The right answer did not change.

    Therapeutic communication questions rewritten

    ImprovedFixed
    • Improved
63 therapeutic communication questions rewritten, answers unchanged. more ▾

63 practice questions on therapeutic communication were rewritten to the shape of the board exam. Many used to ask the same thing in disguise: one caring reply against three obvious mistakes. Now all four choices sound like something a good nurse might say, and the situation decides which one fits. The questions also cover more of the topic: the parts of communication, named techniques and blocks, barriers, professional boundaries and the Code of Ethics, and staying safe with an angry client. Most questions went from about 50 words to about 30, and each explanation starts with the answer in plain words.

    • Fixed
Communication questions with a second arguable answer rebuilt. more ▾

Several communication questions had a second choice that could also be argued correct, or taught a US hospital routine such as an against-medical-advice form or a phone interpreter service. Those choices were rebuilt, or the question now tests something a Philippine ward actually does.

    • Fixed
Cram sheet gift rule now matches the Code of Ethics. more ▾

The Mental Health Concepts cram sheet said no gifts at all, which is stricter than the Code of Ethics for Registered Nurses. It now says no money or costly gifts and no favors, matching the Code's rule to decline gifts that could look like taking advantage of a patient.

How we revise questions: one full rewrite per question

    Improved
    • Improved
Each question now gets one full rewrite: wording, choices and explanation together. more ▾

Questions that still need their wording and choices improved will now get their explanation rewritten at the same time, instead of in a separate pass first. Each question gets one full rewrite, so the explanations you read stay consistent with the choices beside them.

Mental health and stress explanations in plain words

    ImprovedFixed
    • Improved
64 mental health foundations explanations rewritten in plain words. more ▾

64 explanations for the questions on the foundations of mental health nursing were rewritten in plain words. Each one now starts with the answer, says first why each wrong choice is wrong, and explains terms such as the Mental Health Act, decision-making capacity, therapeutic milieu and countertransference the first time they appear.

    • Improved
61 stress and defense mechanism explanations rewritten in plain words. more ▾

61 explanations for the questions on stress, coping and defense mechanisms were rewritten in plain words. Each defense mechanism is now defined by the one feature that sets it apart from the look-alikes, such as projection versus displacement and suppression versus repression.

    • Fixed
35 mental health explanations corrected, 1 answer choice reworded. more ▾

We checked these explanations against the Philippine Mental Health Act, Peplau's own writing, and current psychiatric references, and corrected 35 of them. For example, the last phase of the nurse-client relationship is now named both termination and resolution, and the consent and confidentiality explanations now match the law's exact wording. One question about a soldier's lost memory had a second defensible answer, so that choice was reworded. Every correct answer stayed the same.

    A simpler Diagnostic Exam

    Improved
    • Improved
The diagnostic now gives one starting rating instead of subject-by-subject advice. more ▾

Your Diagnostic Exam now gives you one clear result: a starting rating on the board's scale, with the range it likely falls in. It no longer names a weakest and strongest subject, because 30 questions are too few to tell your subjects apart reliably.

    • Improved
Performance shows your starting rating from the diagnostic. more ▾

Your Performance page now shows the starting rating from your diagnostic, so you have a number from day one and can see how far you've come once your live rating unlocks.

    • Improved
The diagnostic is now a one-time check, found on Home and in History. more ▾

The diagnostic is now a one-time check for everyone, and it has moved out of the menu: you'll find it on Home until you take it, and your results stay in History. To track your progress, use your Performance rating and the mock boards, which measure far more than 30 questions can.

    • Improved
Study plans stay balanced unless you choose a Focus. more ▾

Your study plan no longer reorders subjects based on the diagnostic. If you want more time on certain sections, choose a Focus on your Study Plan.

    • Improved
Fairer, more even diagnostic questions. more ▾

The 30 diagnostic questions are now chosen so every test has the same mix of easier and harder questions, using the questions that best tell a well-prepared student from one still learning. Your starting rating now depends far less on which questions you happened to get.

Labor complication explanations in plain words

    ImprovedFixed
    • Improved
77 labor complication explanations rewritten in plain words. more ▾

77 explanations for the questions on complications during labor were rewritten in plain words. Each one now starts with the answer, says first why each wrong choice is wrong, and explains terms such as late deceleration, shoulder dystocia, cord prolapse and tocolytic the first time they appear.

    • Fixed
28 labor complication explanations corrected, 1 question reworded. more ▾

We checked these explanations against current obstetric guidelines and corrected 28 of them. For example, a late deceleration is now described by its lowest point coming after the peak of the contraction, the positions for a prolapsed cord now match across every question, and the oxytocin dose explanations now do the unit math correctly. One question about a ring across the abdomen was reworded so only one answer holds. Every correct answer stayed the same.

Surgery classification explanations in plain words

    ImprovedFixed
    • Improved
50 surgery classification explanations rewritten in plain words. more ▾

50 explanations for the questions on how surgery is classified were rewritten in plain words. Each one now starts with the answer, says first why each wrong choice is wrong, and explains terms such as elective, palliative, ablative, -ectomy and -ostomy the first time they appear.

    • Fixed
25 surgery classification explanations corrected. more ▾

We checked these explanations against the Kozier and Brunner textbooks and corrected 25 of them. Because the two books sort some operations differently (for example, cosmetic surgery is elective in one and optional in the other), the explanations now work for whichever book you studied.

    Before-surgery explanations in plain words

    ImprovedFixed
    • Improved
59 before-surgery explanations rewritten in plain words. more ▾

59 explanations for the questions on getting a client ready for surgery were rewritten in plain words. Each one now starts with the answer, says first why each wrong choice is wrong, and explains terms such as informed consent, NPO, anticholinergic and incentive spirometer the first time they appear.

    • Fixed
      22 before-surgery explanations corrected, 3 choices reworded. more ▾

We checked these explanations against current guidelines and corrected 22 of them. For example, warmed blankets do slowly raise a low temperature, many but not all blood pressure medicines continue on the morning of surgery, and heparin stops a clot from growing but does not dissolve it. Three answer choices were also reworded so only one answer holds. Every correct answer stayed the same.

    Diabetes questions rewritten

    ImprovedFixed
    • Improved
70 diabetes questions rewritten to board length, answers unchanged. more ▾

70 practice questions on diabetes were rewritten to the length and shape of the board exam: insulin types and injections, low blood sugar, diabetes tablets and newer medicines, long-term complications, foot and eye care, and diabetes in pregnancy. Most questions went from about 55 words to about 30, every wrong choice is now something a student could believe, and each explanation starts with the answer and defines every term in plain words. Every answer letter stayed the same.

    • Fixed
Diabetes questions with a second arguable answer rebuilt. more ▾

Several diabetes questions had a second choice that could also be argued correct, such as swelling at the center of the retina for blurry central vision, or soaking numb feet in hot water as just as dangerous as walking barefoot. Those choices were rebuilt so only one answer holds, and a question that taught the disputed Somogyi effect as fact now tests something else.

    Malnutrition explanations in plain words

    ImprovedFixed
    • Improved
56 malnutrition explanations rewritten in plain words. more ▾

56 explanations for the malnutrition questions were rewritten in plain words. Each one now starts with the answer, and terms such as marasmus, kwashiorkor, refeeding syndrome and tube feeding are explained the first time they appear.

    • Fixed
28 malnutrition explanations corrected. more ▾

We checked these explanations against current guidelines and corrected 28 of them. For example, a stomach right after sleeve surgery holds more than a few tablespoons, and the refeeding questions now explain the vitamin B1 (thiamine) danger correctly. Every correct answer stayed the same.

    Thyroid questions rewritten

    ImprovedFixed
    • Improved
58 thyroid questions rewritten to board length, answers unchanged. more ▾

58 practice questions on hypothyroidism, Graves disease, thyroid storm, myxedema coma, thyroid surgery, radioactive iodine and thyroid medicines were rewritten to the length and shape of the board exam. Most questions went from about 50 words to about 30, every wrong choice is now something a student could believe, and each explanation starts with the answer and defines every term in plain words. Every answer letter stayed the same.

    • Fixed
Thyroid questions with a second arguable answer rebuilt. more ▾

Several thyroid questions had a second choice that could also be argued correct, such as radioactive iodine treatment as a risk for an underactive thyroid, or taping the eyelids shut at night for bulging eyes. Those choices were rebuilt so only one answer holds. The newborn screening question now asks why a baby with an underactive thyroid looks normal at birth.

    • Fixed
Cram sheet thyroid-surgery bleeding line corrected. more ▾

The Metabolism & Endocrine cram sheet now says to loosen a tight dressing and call the surgeon at once when bleeding is suspected after thyroid surgery. The old line could be read as "do not loosen the dressing". Your notes and highlights on the sheet are unchanged.

Heart attack and angina questions rewritten

    ImprovedFixed
    • Improved
70 heart attack and angina questions rewritten to board length, answers unchanged. more ▾

70 practice questions on heart attacks and angina were rewritten to the length and shape of the board exam. They cover chest pain types, heart tests, heart attack medicines, the care after a heart catheterization, and heart attack complications. Most questions went from about 50 words to about 30, every wrong choice is now something a student could believe, and each explanation starts with the answer and defines every term in plain words. Every answer stayed the same.

    • Fixed
Shrimp and dye myth removed; questions with a second right answer fixed. more ▾

One answer suggested that a shrimp allergy means an allergy to X-ray dye. That is a myth, and the question now tests something else. Several questions also had a second answer that could be argued, and about a third of them repeated a fact already tested elsewhere. Each now has one right answer and tests its own fact, and the bank now gives one consistent first step for a suspected heart attack: the 12-lead ECG within ten minutes.

Mouth, esophagus and stomach explanations in plain words

25 explanations corrected; 1 question given a clearer choice. more ▾

We checked these explanations against current guidelines and corrected 25 of them. One question about vitamin B12 after stomach removal also got a clearer answer choice, and every correct answer stayed the same.

We checked these explanations against current guidelines and corrected 42 of them. For example, red blood cells live about 120 days, breathing into a paper bag does not lower calcium, and amylase usually returns to normal in about 3 to 5 days. Three questions also got clearer answer choices, and every correct answer stayed the same.

Clearer answers on three tuberculosis questions

    Fixed
    • Fixed
Three tuberculosis questions clarified to match the 2020 DOH TB manual. more ▾

Three tuberculosis questions were adjusted so the 2020 DOH TB manual and older review notes now point to the same answer. A household-contact question now says how far away the nearest chest X-ray is, a case-finding question has a new choice in place of chest X-ray screening, and a treatment-supporter explanation no longer overstates the rule. Every correct answer stayed the same.

    Bowel and appendix questions rewritten

    ImprovedFixed
    • Improved
52 bowel and appendix questions rewritten to board length, answers unchanged. more ▾

52 practice questions on appendicitis, bowel obstruction, Crohn disease and ulcerative colitis, diverticulitis, colon cancer, celiac disease and hemorrhoids were rewritten to the length and shape of the board exam. Most questions went from about 60 words to about 30, every wrong choice is now something a student could believe, and each explanation starts with the answer and defines every term in plain words. Every answer stayed the same.

    • Fixed
McBurney's point corrected; questions with a second right answer fixed. more ▾

One question taught that McBurney's point is midway between the navel and the hip bone. It is one-third of the way from the hip bone, and that question and a flashcard with the same mistake are now corrected. A question on a Crohn disease medicine also had two wrong choices that the drug label actually requires, and several questions repeated others in the bank. Each now has one right answer and tests its own fact.

    ImprovedFixed
    • Improved
102 tuberculosis explanations rewritten in plain words. more ▾

All 102 explanations for the tuberculosis questions were rewritten in plainer words. Sentences are shorter, every term is explained the first time it appears, and each wrong choice now starts with the reason it is wrong. Every answer stayed the same.

48 tuberculosis explanations corrected against the 2020 DOH TB manual. more ▾

48 tuberculosis explanations were checked against the DOH TB program manual (2020 edition) and WHO guidance and corrected. Examples: a relapse can be diagnosed by a physician, not only by a lab test; TB preventive treatment can use two drugs, not only one; high uric acid points to pyrazinamide, not isoniazid. Where the 2020 manual changed the older rule, such as the rapid Xpert test now coming before the sputum smear, the explanation names both.

59 adrenal gland questions rewritten to board length, answers unchanged. more ▾

59 practice questions on Addison disease, Cushing syndrome, hyperaldosteronism, pheochromocytoma and adrenal crisis were rewritten to the length and shape of the board exam. Most questions went from about 47 words to about 26, every wrong choice is now something a student could believe, and each explanation defines every term in plain words. Every answer stayed the same.

    • Fixed
Adrenal questions with a second right answer or a repeat fixed. more ▾

A few adrenal questions had a weak spot: one wrong choice that was also reasonable, a false statement that was true for about half of clients, and several questions that repeated others in the bank almost word for word. Each now has one right answer and tests its own fact.

With an exam date set, it also suggests a pace for the mocks you have left.

    • Improved
Your pass targets now lead the Home page. more ▾

Home shows the same pass targets in place of Your performance at a glance, with your projected rating and next badge kept on the card.
