    Faster servers after tonight's slowdown

    ImprovedFixed
    • Improved
BoardPal now runs on bigger servers with 4 times the memory. more ▾

So many students now study with BoardPal that we moved it to bigger servers with 4 times the memory, so it can keep up as more of you join. The heaviest background work now also runs outside the busy evening study hours.

    • Fixed
Tonight's slowdown, fixed; a stuck page now offers Try again. more ▾

From about 8:50 pm tonight BoardPal was very slow or stuck on the loading screen for many students. Answers you submitted before it stalled are saved. If a page ever takes too long to load again, it now shows a Try again button instead of waiting forever.

Shorter explanations on 300 more questions

    Improved
    • Improved
Explanations on 300 more questions shortened, every reason and definition kept. more ▾

The explanations on 300 more of the most-answered one-answer questions were shortened to 150 words or fewer, down from about 234 words for a typical one. Each still gives every reason the answer is right and every reason each other option is wrong, keeps a plain definition of every term it relies on, and opens with the answer. Each was checked by two reviewers. The question itself was also shortened on 22 of them, without removing anything the answer needs. The answers are unchanged.

Clearer hearing-loss tips in the Eye and Ear sheet

    Fixed
    • Fixed
Whisper test and hearing-loss talking tips on the Eye and Ear sheet, corrected. more ▾

On pages 11 and 12 of the Sensory: Eye and Ear Disorders sheet, the whisper test is now done from arm's length behind the client, and the tip for talking with an older adult who has hearing loss now says to speak a little louder and never shout, instead of lowering your pitch. Only those lines changed, so your highlights and notes stay where you left them.

Bone lab results corrected in the Musculoskeletal sheet

    Fixed
    • Fixed
Osteomalacia and Paget disease lines on the Musculoskeletal sheet, corrected. more ▾

On pages 20 and 21 of the Musculoskeletal sheet (Fractures, Casts, Traction & Joints), osteomalacia no longer reads as always having a low calcium. The calcium can still be normal, so a normal result does not rule it out; the low phosphate is the clue. The Paget disease treatment line now puts a bisphosphonate first, with calcitonin only when one cannot be used. Only those lines changed, so your highlights and notes stay where you left them.

    • Fixed
Paget disease labs and the calcitonin allergy line on the Musculoskeletal sheet, corrected. more ▾

On the same pages, the Paget disease labs now read a very high alkaline phosphatase with a normal calcium and a normal phosphate, which is what sets Paget disease apart from osteomalacia. The calcitonin row no longer warns about seafood or fish allergy; the drug label warns only about an allergy to calcitonin itself, so the line now says to skip it in that case and to skin-test if unsure. Your highlights and notes stay where you left them.

A chemical eye splash question corrected

    Fixed
    • Fixed
Chemical splash question: a numbing drop is no longer marked wrong. more ▾

A chemical splash question no longer marks a numbing eye drop as wrong. It may be given for comfort, but rinsing the eye never waits for it to start working.

Eye injuries, pink eye and eye surgery topic revised

    ImprovedFixed
    • Improved
39 eye questions rebuilt: shorter, harder choices, clearer explanations. more ▾

39 eye questions were rebuilt: chemical splashes, hyphema, eye injuries, pink eye, corneal problems, retinoblastoma and care before and after eye surgery. Stems are shorter, all four choices are closer, and every explanation is in plain words.

    • Fixed
Pink eye questions no longer disagree about staying home from school. more ▾

The pink eye questions no longer disagree about keeping a child home from school.

Ear and hearing loss topic revised

    ImprovedFixed
    • Improved
33 ear and hearing loss questions rebuilt: shorter, harder choices, clearer explanations. more ▾

33 questions on ear anatomy, ear assessment and hearing loss were rebuilt: the Rinne and Weber tuning-fork tests, otoscopy, conductive and sensorineural loss, presbycusis, hearing aids and talking with a client who has hearing loss. Stems are shorter, all four choices are closer, and every explanation is in plain words.

    • Fixed
A few ear and hearing questions no longer teach unsupported claims. more ▾

A few claims that no current source supports were removed, such as lowering the pitch of your voice for a client with hearing loss and a PhilHealth coverage claim for hearing tests.

    Metabolic bone disorders topic revised

    ImprovedFixed
    • Improved
36 bone disorder questions rebuilt: shorter, harder choices, clearer explanations. more ▾

36 metabolic bone disorder questions were rebuilt: osteoporosis, osteomalacia, Paget disease and rickets. Stems are shorter, all four choices are closer, and every explanation is in plain words.

    • Fixed
A few bone disorder questions now match current guidance. more ▾

A few questions were brought up to current guidance, such as which Paget disease complication is common and when calcitonin is used, and a rickets question no longer has more than one right answer.

A clearer line on vaccine types in the Immunization sheet

    Fixed
    • Fixed
One vaccine-type line on the Immunization sheet, corrected. more ▾

On page 2 of the Immunization, Maternal & Child Health & Nutrition sheet, the vaccine-type table no longer suggests that every subunit vaccine fails in babies. It now says what is true: a bare sugar coat works poorly before age 2, which is why the Hib and pneumococcal vaccines are joined to a protein. The hepatitis B vaccine on the same row works from birth, as the birth dose on that page shows. Only that line changed, so your highlights and notes stay where you left them.

Clearer word on what redoing a question counts for

    Improved
    • Improved
Redos and the Vault now say they never change your rating. more ▾

Retry your misses, the Vault and the Help page now say plainly that your rating counts only your first try on each question, so redoing a question or clearing your Vault never raises or lowers it. A redo made at least 3 days later still counts toward the topic's Now score. In the cram sheet reader, the top-left link now reads Back to Resources.

Clearer picture and icon credits on every cram sheet

    Fixed
    • Fixed
Fuller icon and picture credits on all cram sheets. more ▾

Every cram sheet now credits its heading icons in full: where they come from, that we recolored them, and the license they are shared under. The gallbladder picture on the Nutrition & Gastrointestinal sheet now credits the textbook edition it really comes from. Only the small print changed, so every page, highlight and note stays where you left it.

One popup at a time on a new Study Plan

    Fixed
    • Fixed
A new plan's ready card no longer opens on top of the tour. more ▾

Right after your Study Plan is built or rebuilt, the "Your plan is ready" card no longer opens on top of the Study Plan tour. The tour now waits for your next visit.

Cram sheets now point to sheets by their real names

    Fixed
    • Fixed
Old sheet names on six cram sheets now match the shelf. more ▾

Six cram sheets sent you to "DOH Programs A" or "DOH Programs B", names no sheet on the shelf carries. They now say Immunization, for the Immunization, Maternal & Child Health & Nutrition sheet, and Environmental Health, for the Environmental Health, Disaster & Records sheet. The sheets are Epidemiology, Fundamentals, Philippine Health Laws, Infectious & Immunologic, Psychopathology A, and Therapeutic Communication. Every page kept its layout, so your highlights and notes stay where you left them.

    • Fixed
Cardiovascular now points to Labs, Fluids & Electrolytes. more ▾

The Cardiovascular sheet sent you to a "Lab Values" sheet for hyperkalemia. It now names the Labs, Fluids & Electrolytes sheet, the one on the shelf. Your marks on that page stay where they were.

Turn on the reading step from Home

    Improved
    • Improved
Older plans can turn on the reading step from Home. more ▾

If your Study Plan was made before the reading step existed, Home now shows a card to turn it on, right above Today's Plan. Tap Turn on, or Not now to hide it.

Getting into your new account is easier

    FixedImproved
    • Fixed
The log-in page now tells you your email is confirmed. more ▾

If you tapped the confirmation link in your email app and landed on the log-in page, your email is confirmed. The page now says so and tells you to log in with the email and password you signed up with.

    • Improved
Easier to get a fresh confirmation link. more ▾

Didn't get the confirmation email? The log-in page now has a Resend confirmation email button, and if you haven't confirmed after an hour we send the link once more. Spotted a typo in your email after signing up? There's now a Fix it button on the check-your-email screen.

    A calmer first sign-in

    Fixed
    • Fixed
Your first sign-in shows only the welcome card. more ▾

On your very first sign-in, the welcome card now has the screen to itself. The What's New announcement, the study reminder card and other notes no longer pop up on top of it, even on a phone someone else has used BoardPal on.

Study Plan setup: long plans and a sample week on Home

    FixedImproved
    • Fixed
Plans over 400 days now show their question count. more ▾

Setting up a plan more than 400 days before your exam now shows how many questions it holds, instead of an empty box. Plans can run up to two years, and you can now move your exam date that far from the Study Plan too.

    • Improved
Home shows a sample week before your plan is set up. more ▾

Before you set up a plan, the Today's Plan card on Home now shows a sample week, so you can see what your days will look like.

A cram sheet link that opened the wrong sheet

    Fixed
    • Fixed
Altered elimination no longer links to the Critical Care cram sheet. more ▾

Altered elimination questions and flashcards no longer send you to the Critical Care cram sheet, which covers only one small part of that topic. Its lessons are spread across the Nutrition & GI, Renal & Urinary and Diabetes sheets, so for now the link reads coming soon instead.

A shorter, simpler Study Plan setup

    Improved
    • Improved
Plan setup now fits on one screen, with the build button always in reach. more ▾

Setting up your Study Plan now fits on one screen: your two dates, how long until your exam, your daily time and rest days. The build button stays at the bottom of the screen, so you never have to scroll to find it.

    • Improved
Sections and flashcards live in More options, with full section names. more ▾

Exam sections and daily flashcards moved into More options, and each section now shows its full name and topic count on phones too. One Your plan box shows your typical day, questions and mock boards.

Add your own pictures to cram sheets

    New
    • New
Add your own photos and screenshots to cram sheet pages. more ▾

Cram sheets now take your own pictures. In the tools row, tap the picture button to add a photo from your phone or a screenshot (on a laptop, paste it with Ctrl+V). Drag it to move it, pull its corner to resize it, tap it to see it full screen, or shrink it to a small pin so it stops covering the text. Up to 6 pictures on a page.

Study Plan: read the topic's cram sheet pages before its questions

    NewImproved
    • New
Your plan now opens each new topic's cram sheet pages before its questions. more ▾

On the first day of a new topic, your Study Plan now opens the cram sheet pages that teach it, right before that topic's questions. Reaching the last page ticks the step off, and a button takes you straight into the quiz.

    • Improved
Reading fits inside your daily time; switch it in Study steps. more ▾

Reading time comes out of your daily study time, never on top of it. If your days are already full of questions, only some topics get a reading step, and the Study steps setting shows how many. Turn reading on or off there, next to flashcards.

    • Improved
Older plans: tap Turn on in your Study Plan to add reading. more ▾

Plans made before this update start with reading off. To add it, open your Study Plan and tap Turn on in the "New: read before each topic" card, or open Plan settings, then Study steps, and set Read before each new topic to On. Your finished work stays where it is.

Endocrine flashcards and cram sheets updated

    Fixed
    • Fixed
Three DKA flashcards now judge recovery by blood ketones. more ▾

Three diabetic ketoacidosis flashcards now say recovery is judged by falling blood ketones, with the anion gap used only where ketones cannot be measured, as current guidance advises.

    • Fixed
Two endocrine cram sheets clarify Addison disease vs stopping steroids. more ▾

Two endocrine cram sheets no longer suggest that stopping steroids causes the darkened skin and high potassium of Addison disease. Your notes and highlights on both sheets stay where you left them.

    Autonomic dysreflexia pulse corrected

    Fixed
    • Fixed
The pulse in autonomic dysreflexia often slows but can rise; three study materials now say so. more ▾

In autonomic dysreflexia the pulse often slows, but in about 4 of every 10 episodes it rises instead. One question explanation, one flashcard and the Neuro C cram sheet used to teach a slow pulse as the rule; they now say a fast pulse does not rule it out. Your notes on the cram sheet stay where you left them.

    Endocrine emergencies topic revised

    ImprovedFixed
    • Improved
35 endocrine emergency questions rebuilt: shorter, harder choices, clearer explanations. more ▾

35 endocrine emergency questions were rebuilt: diabetic ketoacidosis, hyperosmolar hyperglycemic state, low blood sugar, thyroid storm, myxedema coma, adrenal crisis and pheochromocytoma. Stems are shorter, all four choices are closer, and every explanation is in plain words.

    • Fixed
A few endocrine emergency questions now match current guidance. more ▾

A few questions were brought up to current guidance, such as how to tell when diabetic ketoacidosis has cleared, and two adrenal crisis cases no longer show signs that belong only to Addison disease.

Pediatric legal principles and teamwork topic revised

    ImprovedFixed
    • Improved
34 pediatric legal and teamwork questions rebuilt: shorter, harder choices, clearer explanations. more ▾

34 pediatric legal and teamwork questions were rebuilt: consent and a child's own agreement, privacy, reporting child abuse, charting, medication safety, delegation, restraints, and handoffs. Stems are shorter, all four choices are closer, and every explanation is in plain words.

    • Fixed
A few pediatric legal explanations now match Philippine law more closely. more ▾

A few explanations now match Philippine law more closely, such as which law makes a nurse report child abuse and when a minor can be treated in an emergency, and a few choices that were also correct were replaced so each question has one best answer.

    • Fixed
Mental Health Concepts cram sheet: mandatory reporting now matches the law. more ▾

The Mental Health Concepts cram sheet no longer lists abuse of an adult woman as something a nurse must report. Child abuse is the report the law requires; for an adult, the nurse records her injuries and tells her the help open to her.

    Autonomic dysreflexia topic revised

    ImprovedFixed
    • Improved
31 autonomic dysreflexia questions rebuilt: shorter, harder choices, clearer explanations. more ▾

31 autonomic dysreflexia questions were rebuilt: recognizing an episode, positioning, finding the trigger in the bladder, bowel or skin, medicines, and teaching the client. Stems are shorter, all four choices are closer, and every explanation is in plain words.

    • Fixed
Autonomic dysreflexia questions now agree on one emergency order. more ▾

All 31 questions now follow the same emergency order, so two questions no longer give opposite answers for the same situation. A few choices that were also correct were replaced so each question has one best answer.

Clearer password rules when you sign up

    FixedImproved
    • Fixed
Sign-up now shows the real password length (10 characters). more ▾

The sign-up page now asks for at least 10 characters, which is what the account system actually needs. Before, it said 8, so some passwords that looked fine were refused with no clear reason.

    • Improved
A password from a known data leak now gets its own clear message. more ▾

If a password has appeared in a data leak on another website, sign-up and password reset now say so plainly and ask for a different one, instead of repeating the general rules.

Cram sheet pictures now name their parts

    ImprovedFixed
    • Improved
Pictures on six cram sheets now show numbers and names on the picture itself. more ▾

Pictures of body parts and equipment on six cram sheets now show a number and a short name right on the picture, so you can tell which shape is the lens or the drain bag without searching the text. The numbers match the list beside each picture. The sheets are Anatomy and Physiology, Nutrition & Gastrointestinal, Neuro B, Neuro C, Renal & Urinary Elimination, and Sensory. Your notes and highlights stay where you left them.

    • Fixed
Step lists beside pictures now use bullets, not numbers. more ▾

Lists that are steps rather than parts of a picture, such as giving eye drops, now use bullets instead of numbers, so no number sends you looking for something that isn't drawn.

    A reminder when a checkout isn't finished

    New
    • New
One reminder email when a checkout isn't finished. more ▾

If you start paying for a plan and the payment isn't completed, we now send one short email about a day later with a link back to checkout, your partner code if it still works, and an offer to help if the payment gave you trouble. You can turn it off with the email's Unsubscribe link.

Partner milestones and a day-by-day earnings view

    NewImproved
    • New
Partners get first-sale and milestone emails, and see their students helped. more ▾

Partners now get an email for their first sale and at each milestone of students who joined with their code (10, 25, 50, 100 and up). The Partner Portal shows how many students they've helped and how close the next milestone is.

    • Improved
Partners can see their earnings day by day for the last 30 days. more ▾

The Partner Portal's earnings chart can now show the last 30 days, day by day, with the best day marked, so partners can see which days their posts brought in sales.

    Clearer topic scores on Home

    Improved
    • Improved
Home's weak spots now show when a score is your Now score. more ▾

Your weak spots on Home now say when a topic's number is its Now score, with your first try beside it, the same as Topic Mastery and Performance. Topic lines that wrap on a phone also read more cleanly.

Review the answers you guessed right

    New
    • New
The finish screen now offers a quick review of right answers you tagged as a guess. more ▾

When you get a question right but tagged it Guessing or Not sure, the finish screen now tells you how many and offers Review them, a short set of just those questions. A lucky guess can hide a gap, so a second look makes sure you really know it.

    New questions in five topics

    New
    • New
92 new practice questions in five topics students finish most often. more ▾

92 new practice questions in the five topics students finish most often: Classification of surgery (20), Non-communicable diseases (20), Malnutrition (19), Foundations of mental health nursing (17), and Universal Health Care and the SDGs (16). If you had already answered every question in one of these topics, your next practice set there brings fresh first tries.

    See what improved this week

    New
    • New
Performance now shows your old misses fixed and topics moved up this week. more ▾

Performance now shows what improved this week under your progress chart: questions you missed the first time and answered right after coming back at least 3 days later, and topics whose color went up since Monday. It only appears in a week when there is something to show.

More ways to study a topic you have finished

    New
    • New
A finished topic's finish screen now links to its flashcards and cram sheet. more ▾

When a practice set leaves you with every question in its topic answered, the finish screen now offers that topic's flashcards and cram sheet under Keep studying this topic. The Next set button still takes you to new questions in another weak topic.

Review sets put the right questions first

    Improved
    • Improved
Review sets in a finished topic now start with questions you have not seen for 3 days. more ▾

When you have answered every question in a topic, its practice sets now start with the questions you have not seen for at least 3 days, the ones you last got wrong first. Those are the answers that move your Now score, so review time goes where it counts. Questions you saw in the last few days come last.

Smoother mock exams and faster flashcards

    ImprovedFixed
    • Improved
The next flashcard shows the moment you rate one. more ▾

The next flashcard now shows the moment you tap a rating. Your rating saves in the background, and if your connection drops, a note says so and the rating saves once you are back online.

    • Improved
Highlighting and the pen respond faster, most of all on slower tablets. more ▾

Highlighting and the pen respond faster in mock exams, practice and the diagnostic, most of all on slower tablets. The mock exam clock and the practice timers no longer make the whole page redraw every second.

    • Fixed
Mock exams now tell you when you are offline and keep your answers safe. more ▾

If your connection drops during a mock exam, a note now says your answers are safe on this device, and they sync when you reconnect. Submitting while offline waits and goes through once you are back online, instead of opening a no-internet page. Resume also responds within a few seconds on a weak signal.

    • Fixed
A stylus dot no longer erases the pen mark under it. more ▾

A dot drawn with a stylus, such as the dot on an i, now stays on the page instead of erasing the pen mark under it.

Topic scores that move when you review

    New
    • New
Topic Mastery now shows a Now score that moves when you review a topic after 3 days. more ▾

Topic Mastery now shows a Now score beside your first try once you come back to a topic's questions after at least 3 days. Now counts your latest answer on each question, so reviewing a topic you have finished can finally move it, and the topic's color follows Now. A topic where you have answered every question says so and offers Review. Your weakest-topics lists on Home and Performance use the same score, so a topic you have fixed leaves the list.

Family planning and breastfeeding law corrected

    Fixed
    • Fixed
Two flashcards and two cram sheets now match the family planning and breastfeeding laws. more ▾

Two flashcards and two cram sheets now match the law. Under the 2014 Supreme Court ruling on the Reproductive Health Law, a husband cannot stop his wife from getting family planning information, but an elective procedure such as a tubal ligation needs her husband's consent too, except in an emergency. The Reproductive Health cram sheet and its consent chart now say exactly that. The Immunization, Maternal and Child Health cram sheet now says formula is given only after the mother is counseled and chooses it in writing, as the Rooming-In and Breastfeeding Act requires. Your notes on both sheets stay where you left them.

    Nose and throat questions revised

    ImprovedFixed
    • Improved
31 nose and throat questions rebuilt: shorter, harder choices, clearer explanations. more ▾

31 nose and throat questions were rebuilt: nosebleeds and nasal packing, tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy care, sinusitis and allergy sprays, sleep apnea, strep throat and throat abscess, laryngitis and laryngectomy. Stems are shorter, all four choices are closer, and every explanation is in plain words.

    • Fixed
A few nose and throat choices now match current guidance. more ▾

A few choices that current guidance also supports, such as allergy-proof mattress covers for a cat allergy, were replaced so each question has one best answer, and the strep throat question now follows a child, since rheumatic fever after strep is rare in adults.

Ethics and law in maternal care revised

    ImprovedFixed
    • Improved
38 maternal ethics and law questions rebuilt: shorter, harder choices, clearer explanations. more ▾

38 questions on ethics and the law in maternal care were rebuilt: consent, a woman's right to refuse, confidentiality, honest charting, reporting abuse, the breastfeeding and rooming-in law, family planning rights, and fair use of scarce resources. Stems are shorter, all four choices are closer, and every explanation is in plain words.

    • Fixed
A family planning answer now follows the 2014 Supreme Court ruling. more ▾

A family planning question now follows the 2014 Supreme Court ruling on the Reproductive Health Law, and a question about an abused teenager no longer has two right answers.

    Infectious diseases topic revised

    ImprovedFixed
    • Improved
57 infectious disease questions rebuilt: shorter, harder choices, clearer explanations. more ▾

57 infectious disease questions were rebuilt: hepatitis A to E, HIV and AIDS, sexually transmitted infections, COVID-19, and infection control and protective equipment. Stems are shorter, all four choices are closer, and every explanation is in plain words.

    • Fixed
A few infectious disease answers now match current guidance. more ▾

A few answers that older textbooks still teach were brought up to current guidance, such as needlestick first aid and when chlamydia is treated alongside gonorrhea, and a few choices that were also correct were replaced so each question has one best answer.

Choose how many questions come from each topic

    NewImproved
    • New
Set exactly how many questions come from each section or topic. more ▾

When you build a custom set with two or more topics, you now see exactly how many questions each section will give you before you start. Tap Adjust to change the numbers yourself, for example 75 from Communicable Diseases and 25 from Fundamentals, and open a section to set each topic inside it. Thank you to the student who suggested it!

    • New
Recent custom sets: Continue or Start again in one tap. more ▾

Your recent custom sets now sit at the top of the set builder. Tap Continue to pick up an unfinished one where you left off, or Start again for the same topics with new questions.

    • Improved
The set builder remembers your last choices. more ▾

The set builder now remembers your last number of questions, mode and question choice on this device, so you don't have to set them again each time.

    Acid-base and ABG questions revised

    ImprovedFixed
    • Improved
61 acid-base questions rebuilt: shorter, harder choices, clearer explanations. more ▾

61 acid-base questions were rebuilt: reading an arterial blood gas, how the lungs and kidneys compensate, and the nursing care behind each result. Stems are shorter, all four choices are closer, fewer questions ask the same thing, and every explanation is in plain words.

    • Fixed
      A few acid-base answers corrected. more ▾

A few answers were corrected. For example, a blood gas with a pH just below normal is no longer called fully compensated, and bicarbonate is no longer taught as routine for every overdose with acid in the blood.

Childhood brain and nerve topic revised

    ImprovedFixed
    • Improved
59 childhood brain and nerve questions rebuilt: shorter, harder choices, clearer explanations. more ▾

59 questions on childhood brain and nerve problems were rebuilt: pressure inside a child's skull and head injury, seizures, meningitis, cerebral palsy, water on the brain and shunts, spina bifida, and Reye syndrome. Stems are shorter, all four choices are closer, and every explanation is in plain words. Every answer letter is unchanged.

    • Fixed
A shunt question's posture sign corrected. more ▾

One shunt question had the posture backwards. When a shunt drains fluid too fast, the baby is more irritable sitting up and settles lying flat, not the other way around. A few other explanations were tightened to match current sources.

    Emergency care topic revised

    ImprovedFixed
    • Improved
68 emergency care questions rebuilt: shorter, harder choices, clearer explanations. more ▾

68 emergency care questions were rebuilt: CPR and cardiac arrest, the first checks after an injury, bleeding control, chest injuries, burns, poisoning and antidotes, heat and cold injuries, bites and allergic reactions, and disaster triage. Stems are shorter, all four choices are closer, and every explanation is in plain words.

    • Fixed
A burn fluid answer and a few emergency choices now match current guidance. more ▾

A burn fluid calculation now shows the right amount for the first 8 hours, and a few choices that current guidance also supports, such as a pressure bandage for some snakebites, were replaced so each question has one best answer.

Smoother Pencil writing and clearer calendar steps

    FixedImproved
    • Fixed
Cleaner Apple Pencil writing on question screens. more ▾

On iPad, writing with an Apple Pencil on the Scratch pad and with the question Pen could come out broken, with tiny hooks along each line, so letters needed pressing hard or rewriting. The Scratch pad and the question Pen now ignore the stray old touch points the iPad sometimes resends in the middle of a stroke, which were drawing those hooks.

    • Improved
Clearer Google Calendar steps for Android phones. more ▾

Adding your study plan to Google Calendar on an Android phone now shows both steps: add it from a computer, then switch on Sync for BoardPal Study Plan in the Google Calendar app. The Help page answers this too.

Two more pages compare BoardPal with each one on its own.

    FixedImproved
    • Fixed
Reloading a free practice set brings back the same questions. more ▾

On the free plan, reloading a practice set or switching topics before answering now brings back the questions you already opened today, instead of a new set. Retrying your misses and practicing bookmarks still work as before.

Cram sheets: the pen stays within reach

    Fixed
    • Fixed
Once you use the pen tools, the top bar on a cram sheet stays in place. more ▾

On phones and tablets, the bar at the top of a cram sheet used to slide away whenever you scrolled down, even if you had just been writing, which could leave no pen on screen. Once you open the pen tools, the bar now stays in place until you leave the sheet. If you only read, it still slides away for more room.

On the home page, the cram sheet section now shows its pages on the right, opposite the feature preview above it, and the sheets no longer run past the edge of the screen on tablets.

Page share titles and site name for Google

    Improved
    • Improved
Shared links to About, Stories and other pages show their own titles. more ▾

A shared link to a page such as About, Student stories or the Partner Program now shows that page's own title and description in the preview, instead of the main site title.

    • Improved
Google can now read our official name, logo and pages. more ▾

The home page now tells Google that this site is NLE BoardPal, also known as BoardPal, along with our logo and official Facebook, Instagram and Telegram pages, so searches for the name can find us more easily over time.

    Stroke topic revised

    ImprovedFixed
    • Improved
68 stroke questions rebuilt: shorter, harder choices, clearer explanations. more ▾

68 stroke questions were rebuilt: recognizing a stroke and the first hour of care, clot-dissolving treatment, bleeding in the brain, blood thinners, and recovery care such as speech and swallowing problems, safe transfers and preventing a second stroke. Stems are shorter, all four choices are closer, and every explanation is in plain words.

    • Fixed
A few stroke answers now match current guidance. more ▾

A few answers were updated to match current guidance. For example, an ordered clot-dissolving drug is not held back while routine clotting results are pending, unless a bleeding problem is suspected, and fluids are no longer restricted for a low sodium after a bleed around the brain, because a drop in fluid volume raises the risk of the brain's arteries narrowing.

    Pharmacology core principles topic revised

    ImprovedFixed
    • Improved
161 core pharmacology questions rebuilt: shorter, harder choices, clearer explanations. more ▾

161 pharmacology questions were rebuilt across the core principles topic: how drugs move through the body and how doses change for children, older adults and pregnancy; side effects, drug interactions and antidotes; teaching and monitoring for specific drugs; and giving medicines safely. Stems are shorter, all four choices are closer, and every explanation is in plain words.

    • Fixed
A few answers now match current drug labels. more ▾

A few answers were updated to match current drug labels and reviews. For example, after a severe amoxicillin allergy the antibiotic most likely to cause a cross-reaction is cephalexin, not cefazolin.

PALMER and ALS questions now link to their cram sheets

    FixedImproved
    • Fixed
PALMER and ALS questions now open their cram sheet. more ▾

Questions on Professional Adjustment and Nursing Jurisprudence said "Cram sheet coming soon" even though the Nurse Law and Patient Rights sheet already teaches negligence, torts, consent, confidentiality, the patient's rights and bioethics. They now open that sheet. Questions on ALS now open Neuro B, which has a section on it.

    • Improved
Search now understands PALMER. more ▾

Searching "PALMER" in Resources or Practice now finds Professional Adjustment and Jurisprudence, Leadership and Management, and Nursing Research.
