TB treatment labels updated, three reported questions fixed

    Improved
    • Improved
Communicable Diseases cram sheet now uses the current TB regimen labels. more ▾

The TB pages of the Communicable Diseases cram sheet now use the treatment labels of the DOH TB program manual: Regimen 1 for most drug-susceptible TB and Regimen 2 for TB of the brain, bones or joints. The older Category I and II names stay in brackets, because some reviewers still use them. Streptomycin is now marked as an old retreatment drug, drug-resistant TB now reads 6 to 20 months, and the TB-DOTS flowchart matches. Your marks on the sheet stay where you drew them.

Show or hide every explanation at once

    Improved
    • Improved
One tap to show or hide every explanation in a past set. more ▾

When you reopen a past practice set from History, every explanation is now open, the same as right after you finish. One "Hide all explanations" button folds them all, and your choice is remembered on that device. You can still fold or open any single one. A page you download for offline review now keeps every explanation, including folded ones. In a finished mock exam, "Open all situations" opens every section and situation in one tap.

Rewritten questions on the community health nursing process

    Improved
    • Improved
Community health nursing process questions rewritten: shorter, harder choices. more ▾

All 54 one-answer questions on the Community Health Nursing Process were rewritten. Their explanations are about a quarter shorter, each 150 words or fewer, and still open with the answer, explain every option and define every term. Twelve questions that repeated others in the bank now test their own community ground, such as the spot map, the house-to-house survey, a community's readiness to act and working with sectors outside health. Wrong options were rebuilt so that each one is something a nurse could believe. Each question was checked by a reviewer. The answers are unchanged.

    Electrolyte imbalances topic revised

    Improved
    • Improved
67 electrolyte imbalance questions rebuilt: shorter, harder choices, clearer explanations. more ▾

67 questions on sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium and phosphorus were rebuilt: the warning signs of each imbalance, what to do first, giving potassium and calcium safely through an IV, the ECG changes, the foods to teach, and how fast a low or high sodium may be corrected. The questions are much shorter, all four choices are closer, and every explanation is in plain words. One question now teaches the correct response when a client feels burning along the vein during an IV potassium infusion: stop the infusion and check the site.

Nursing law explanations in plain words

    Improved
    • Improved
169 law and ethics questions now define every legal word and show how it applies on the ward. more ▾

169 questions on nursing law, ethics and professional adjustment now explain every legal word in plain words, from tort and liability to consent, the Latin doctrines and each law by its name. Every explanation also ends with a short "On the ward" line that shows what the rule looks like on duty. The 68 jurisprudence questions were rebuilt too: shorter questions, closer choices, and seven questions that had a second defensible answer now have one. Independent reviewers read every question, and the answer letters are unchanged.

    • Improved
Nurse Law cram sheet page 5 rewritten in plain words. more ▾

Page 5 of the Nurse Law & Patient Rights cram sheet now explains its legal terms in plain words, such as proximate cause, res ipsa loquitur and solidary liability. Your marks on the sheet stay where you drew them.

Type right on your cram sheets

    Improved
    • Improved
Sheet search also finds the words you typed and your sticky notes. more ▾

Search this sheet (the magnifying glass, or F) now finds your own words too: what you typed on the pages and what you wrote in sticky notes. They show first, marked "your notes".

Retinal detachment and macular degeneration topic revised

    Improved
    • Improved
32 retinal detachment and macular degeneration questions rebuilt: shorter, harder choices, clearer explanations. more ▾

32 questions on retinal detachment and macular degeneration were rebuilt: the warning signs and how fast to act, positioning before and after eye surgery, the gas bubble and the scleral buckle, the Amsler grid, the dry and wet forms, and staying safe at home with low vision. The questions are shorter, all four choices are closer, and every explanation is in plain words. One question now teaches the current rule for positioning a client before retinal surgery.

Rewritten questions on caring for families

    Improved
    • Improved
Care of Families questions rewritten: shorter explanations, no second answers. more ▾

All 43 one-answer questions on Care of Families (Normal and At-Risk) were rewritten. Their explanations are about 40% shorter, each 150 words or fewer, and still open with the answer, explain every option and define every term. Thirteen questions that repeated others in the bank now test their own family-nursing ground, such as family roles, family types and Duvall's stages. Five questions that had a second defensible answer now have one. Each was checked by two reviewers. The answers are unchanged.

Shorter explanations on 295 more questions

    Improved
    • Improved
Explanations on 295 more questions shortened, every reason and definition kept. more ▾

The explanations on 295 more one-answer questions were shortened, nearly all to 150 words or fewer, down from about 210 words for a typical one. Each still opens with the answer, gives every reason the answer is right and every reason each other option is wrong, and keeps a plain definition of every term it relies on. Each was checked by two reviewers. The question itself was also shortened on 23 of them, without removing anything the answer needs. The answers are unchanged.

Clear notice when checkout is down

    Improved
    • Improved
Checkout down? We tell you, and email you when it's back. more ▾

If checkout doesn't go through because PayMongo, our checkout partner, is down or under maintenance, the page now says so and that nothing was charged, and we email you. When checkout is working again, a second email lets you know so you can finish getting your plan.

Terms: pass guarantees and product terms

    Improved
    • Improved
A clearer Terms section on pass guarantees and product terms. more ▾

Terms: a clearer section on pass guarantees, and products may now have extra terms on their own pages.

    One spelling for practice

    Improved
    • Improved
Buttons and lines now spell it "practice" everywhere. more ▾

BoardPal now spells it "practice" everywhere, for the noun and the verb. A few buttons and lines on Flashcards and the About page used the British "practise".

Easier to find on cram sheets: Night reading and your quiz

    Improved
    • Improved
A moon button at the top turns Night reading off in one tap. more ▾

When Night reading is on, a moon button now shows at the top of the cram sheet. Tap it once to turn Night reading off. Before, the switch was only inside the drawing tools' More menu, so a page that looked darker and orange was hard to change back.

    • Improved
A Quiz button at the top stays in view while you draw. more ▾

When you open a cram sheet from your study plan and start drawing or highlighting, a gold Quiz button now shows at the top of the sheet. The quiz button at the bottom hides while a drawing tool is picked, so it never catches your strokes, and the top button keeps the way to your quiz in view.
